The unit is intended to be fitted into the return pipe of a heating circuit and connects using the supplied Ø28 compression ball‑valves. It is a straightforward, passive device with no electrical supply: water flows through the body, non‑magnetic particles are arrested by the mesh and ferrous particles are attracted to the magnet, which can be withdrawn for cleaning via the service procedure.

How it works in practice

Two trapping mechanisms work together. A pair of stainless/plastic mesh elements (an 800µm and a finer 300µm mesh) remove larger debris and prevent coarse solids from circulating. The central magnetic rod (specified at 12,000 gauss) then captures magnetic black iron oxide and other ferrous wear particles that commonly form as systems age or after installation work. Collected material is held in the filter body and released through the integrated drain for servicing when the magnet and mesh are cleaned.
