Optimum Ecosave 24-Hour Mechanical Immersion Heater Timer
The Optimum Ecosave is a 24-hour mechanical timer designed specifically for multi-tariff control of 3 kW electric immersion heaters, helping to optimise water heating during off-peak electricity periods. Suitable for single, dual, or twin immersion heaters, it provides reliable and efficient time-based control for domestic hot water systems.
Featuring 24-hour programmable control with 15-minute intervals, the Optimum Ecosave allows precise scheduling to match off-peak tariff periods. A selectable boost function offers additional flexibility during peak times, with adjustable boost durations of 15, 30, 60, or 120 minutes, allowing hot water to be heated on demand when required.
The unit is equipped with a quartz movement for accurate timekeeping and includes a 72-hour power reserve, ensuring programmed settings are maintained during temporary power interruptions. Manual ON/OFF functionality allows immediate control when needed, while indicator lights clearly display peak and boost operation status.
Designed for ease of installation, the Optimum Ecosave features a separate wiring base, simplifying fitting and maintenance. The timer is rated at 16A and operates on 220–240V AC, 50Hz, with an operating temperature range of -10°C to 40°C.
The Optimum Ecosave is intended for installation in dry rooms only and should not be positioned near equipment that produces inductive discharges, such as motors or transformers. It complies with EN 60730-1:2011 for automatic electrical controls and meets applicable LVD, EMC, and RoHS European Directives.

- Note Ensure that the On/Off switch on the back of the unit is switched to “On” when the product is installed
- Ensure the on/off switch on the back of the product is set to the “ON” position before mounting. If using one immersion element add a link between the off-peak and boost terminals using a solid copper core that is rated to carry at least 13 Amps. Also, check that the immersion element you are trying to switch is functioning by checking its resistance using an ohm meter. If unsure how to do this, employ the services of an electrician.
